Ethan is here

On Saturday, April 4th my water broke at 7:30am. I didn't think my water broke so I went on with my day as usual. I made dog biscuits, went to the grocery, made lunch and layed outside for a bit. I had plans with my neighbors at 6:30pm and decided to take a shower around 3. Three showers later I decided that I needed to call my doctors. They told me I needed to go to the hospital and get an exam. Mark and I took our time getting ready and showed up at the hospital around 4:30. The midwife confirmed that my water did break and that I wasn't leaving the hospital without a baby. They put me on pitocin to try to speed things along. Sunday afternoon we decided to try another route and they put me on cervidil. By monday morning I was bored out of my mind and over trying to have a natural birth. My contractions were 1-2 min apart but I wasn't progressing and not feeling any of the contractions. I told the doctors that I wanted a c-section as soon as possible. So at 9:15am the doctor came in and said we are all set for 10:15am. Ethan Robert Schoenfeldt was born at 10:41am weighing 5 pounds 9 ounces.

37 week pic of my huge ass belly

I swear I could be carrying twins. ;-) I also don't know what I would have done if my mom didn't buy me these pants in three different colors and thankfully I have a very talented aunt that can sew. They have been a complete lifesaver from week 4 until now.

Homemade Doggie Biscuits

I have said that I wanted to make dog biscuits for the last two year. So, today I was determined to make them. I knew if I didn't make them first thing in the morning that I wouldn't feel like it in the afternoon. As soon as I woke up I headed to the grocery to get the ingredients and cookie cutter. Well as I am headed down the cooking aisle I thought my water broke so I completely forgot to get the cookie cutter. ;-( So I had to use a pizza cutter instead to cut the dough. This is the first batch... the dough was big enough to make two batches. I of course had two little helpers that made sure that I didn't give the other one a cookie on the side.
